Hunter Valley Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service

The service is a Carrie's Place program and supports women by :

• Attending courts weekly in Maitland, Cessnock, Singleton, Muswellbrook and Kurri Kurri
• Supporting women through all aspects of the ADVO process
• Supporting victims during criminal charges, such as assault, malicious damage, etc.
• Providing advocacy for women with the legal system
• Working with women in crisis, identifying needs and referring to specialist services
• Participating in vital network meetings, identifying issues and lobbying for changes to laws that negatively impact on women & children
• Assisting with community education
• Assisting & supporting women to be safe

This program is funded by NSW Legal Aid Commission as part of their DVCAP funding.
