Staying Home leaving Violence

This service is a Carrie's Place program and supports women & children to remain living where they choose and have the violent person leave. This is done by :

• Providing individual case management to women – assessing needs, goal planning, and emotional support
• Working with women, identifying needs and referring to specialist services both internally and externally
• Providing brokerage funding to upgrade home and personal security
• Assistance with safety planning
• Assisting & supporting women & children to be safe
• Supporting women through all aspects of the ADVO process
• Advocating for “exclusion orders” where needed
• Supporting victims during criminal charges, such as assault, malicious damage, etc.
• Providing advocacy for women with the legal system
• Providing general advocacy
• Participating in vital network meetings, identifying issues and lobbying for changes to laws that negatively impact on women & children
• Assisting with community education

 

The person who uses the violence is responsible for their violence. If anyone leaves the home it should be them
